![]() There can also be other small contributing factors, that may or may not have anything to do with it, like a little bit of blushing in areas because of a very humid enviroment. Sorry, it was an old thread and I didn't read the whole thing. I did like how much the colors "pop" using Aerialite as in that pic of Reverb's board. I'm using Hexcell warp now and don't have any of those issues. Also, if you impact it, the weave turns white and the only way to get it out is to sand the cloth off and reglass. On personal boards that I didn't gloss or clear coat, any exposed weave would turn white from wicking water (only a problem over color). I wasn't having a problem with Aerialite's clarity, it was after it was finished and surfed that I was having issues. My response way back when was probably not real clear. Normally here a HPSB PU rides more than 2000 average waves. Of course, use premium cloth is plus.I use. I found that the difference is on the foam select the right plug and understand what s going on. So the boards need to perform (not too much volume on it) for a kid and last long time The boards here are expensive the surfers have 1 board or some have 2 boards very few have a quiver, more of "collection" of boards What you say is right but in my opinion PU density and not overshaping hold better and is most important than the way you put the layer of cloth. I obtained the same "brightness" and intensity with Hexcel too. ![]() on other note, those colors pop not because BGF but more for the time and technique used to paint those boards. So is water day by day and under lot of pressure constantly plus that area (due the shaping process) sports a weaker foam (PU) The problem is that the owners of those boards never really repair those dings and ALWAYS are under the heel or like that Surfthis, what your are saying about water and wave turns white happened to me with a few old boards that customers bring back to the wshop to repair dings but occurred in BGF and Hexcel (I didn t use JPS) so I suppose that no matter the brand.
